A £1.7 million fund to help Third Sector organisations affected by the recession has opened today.

Grants of between £10,000 and £100,000 are potentially available through the Resilience Fund to Third Sector organisations which can demonstrate how the economic downturn has either led to increased demand or significantly undermined their services.

Finance Secretary John Swinney said:

“I am delighted that the Third Sector Resilience Fund is now open to applications. Third Sector organisations are working at the sharp end of the current recession. They have a vital role to play in mitigating the impact of the downturn.

“That is why we have worked with Third Sector partners, including SCVO, to develop a fund which will help organisations to continue to deliver services whilst managing within a tighter financial climate.”
